Working out has gained greater prevalence as the multiplicity of positive benefits have been mapped. Flexibility, strength, mobility, dexterity, ease of breathing, lowered heart rate, and endorphine release have all been traced to habitual workout routines. For those who want to do so within their own homes, there are numerous different DVDs and other methods by which a toned body can be attained.

A Pilates home gym is another method that simply focuses a little more on the core and balance of the body. With these twin goals in mind, core balance and strength, the workout routine works to extend your mobility and enhance the balance of both body and mind through an almost meditative routine. More and more individuals are finding that Pilates is the right choice for their specific workout routine and for that reason the exercise videos and workout equipment are becoming highly popular in the home.
Joseph Pilates created numerous workout accessories that all add resistance to a basic set our routines and therefore make them more difficult. The most common piece of Pilates home gym equipment is the Reformer. This is a table contraption with a bar at one end. There is a bench that sits within the table that you sit that commonly has a shoulder rest, which can also be used as a limit for your butt. From there, you kick off a stationary bar at the bottom, usually changeable, while pushing against certain resistance springs.

They can be altered for varying levels of resistance, but overall the goal is the same. A Pilates ring or exercise ball are also common accessories as they complicate the original routine and require additional balance and strength. Overall, each of the pieces contribute to forcing the practitioner to practice their balance and hone their powerhouse in the attempt of providing effortless dexterity by the routine’s end.
