There are many different types of yoga apparel; and they are available in array of different styles and colors. Regardless of what your style is there is a perfect style of yoga clothing for you. When you are practicing intense poses and difficult movements it is important that your clothing doesn’t hold you back or get in the way of what you are doing. For this reason it is important that yoga clothing is rather tight and extremely flexible. The clothing you choose needs to be able to flex with you and not restrict your movements or poses. Additionally while performing yoga blood circulation is extremely important, therefore clothing should not be too tight.
Women have extremely broad options when it comes to yoga apparel. There are many different types of active wear that are designed primarily for women. First and foremost support is extremely important; while you are performing yoga you should not be distracted by loose or falling clothing. For women a key piece of apparel is a sports bra; which come in an array of different sizes and styles. A sports bra can be worn alone or one can choose to wear a tank top or another type of active wear top. Usually women choose to wear short sleeved tops so the movement of their arms is not restricted. However, there are long sleeved tops that are available. As long as the top is tightly fitting and not restrictive it will work. The same basic rules apply to bottoms, however they don’t need to be extremely tight. There are an array of different yoga pants or shorts available. When choosing bottoms you need to ensure that they will not detract from the yoga pose.
Men have a more restricted choice when it comes to yoga apparel. Often times men choose to wear looser fitting clothing then women. As long as the clothing doesn’t get in the way of the performance that it creates no problem. It is common for men to wear lightly fitting tank tops when they practice. Tank tops leave the arms free to bend and stretch and it covers most of the upper body. Most men also choose to wear shorts when they practice. Even loose fitting shorts rarely cause problems with traditional poses. They create little to no restriction for the legs or torso. In addition shorts are breathable and can be purchased in an array of sizes and styles.
