Yoga is a self-meditating art of flexibility. The process improves coordination and balance while providing a natural way to unwind. Generally speaking, there is nothing you need besides your own body to facilitate a good yoga course, however there are several different forms of yoga equipment that are becoming popular with increased interest in yoga. One of the most prevalent pieces of yoga gear is the mat tote. The mat tote is a simply bag that can be thrown over your shoulder and carried with you. Most of the time the mats are lightweight and offer no real challenge, but for some it is advantageous to use the bag. The tote usually has one or more pockets that can hold your personal items while you practice the various poses, within eyeshot of your location.
The most obvious form of yoga equipment is therefore the mat. The mat has undergone a huge amount of upheaval in recent years due to the popularity of the art. The surge, especially on the West Coast of the United States, has caused various authors to customize their mats with their favorite symbols or sayings. The best mats have different sides, one stickier rubber to hold onto the studio floor and the other with a more coarse texture to give your feet traction while moving through the various poses and breathing exercises. Other equipment includes a heart rate monitor to study exactly how well you can reduce your heart rate and focus on the tranquil as well as the numerous different articles of clothing than are commonly associated with yoga. From loosely fitting shirts and pants to a cork block to help stabilize yourself when you are arching your back, there are an abundance of additional pieces of yoga equipment that will help you to reach your third eye.
