Yoga shoes are often overlooked when purchasing yoga wear. However, a quality pair of these shoes can improve one’s workout by improving the amount of friction one has against the mat. And while not necessary, many people find them extremely useful.
A quality pair of yoga shoes should have some basic characteristics. First and foremost, they must be flexible. To this end, they often have very thin soles so that they can bend more easily.
Quality yoga shoes should also be lightweight and allow adequate airflow. The various poses in a typical yoga workout make it necessary to wear shoes that feel like they’re barely there. In fact, many of these “shoes’ only cover the toes and the ball of the foot.
